Use Tap to Share on your iPhone in store
Tap to Share lets you securely exchange information with a merchant's iPhone during in-store checkout. Share only what you want to share — like your address for delivery or your email for store signups — and review your checkout cart in real time on your phone.
Before you begin
Hold the top of your iPhone near the merchant's device. When the devices connect, follow the instructions on screen.
Tap to Share is available on iOS 27 and later with an iPhone 12 and later. See iOS feature availability. If you're on older software or a non-Apple device, you can use a secure web app instead. When you see a "Website NFC Tag" notification, follow the steps on screen. Tap to Share is not currently available in the European Economic Area. If a merchant supports Tap to Share, certain features may not be supported.
Choose information to share with the merchant
If prompted, enter your Ship To address, phone number, and email.
Tap Share. Tap to Share uses iPhone's built-in security and privacy features, so anything that you share is visible only to you and the merchant. If you want to skip this step, you can also tap Skip.
Save store passes directly to your phone
If you want to sign up for store loyalty or membership programs, ask the business to sign you up on their iPhone. They can then share the pass with you. Or, if you want, you can choose to skip and not share.
Accept the pass and tap Add to Apple Wallet to add it securely to your Wallet.
Review your checkout cart in real time
Review your checkout cart on your iPhone screen. You can see your full cart, and any discounts or sales prices, directly on your device.
If the merchant supports Apple Pay, you can complete a full or partial payment directly on your iPhone. Apple Pay uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode to authorize the transaction. You can also use a card or cash.
