Intro to Schoolwork
Use Schoolwork to view your class assignments, navigate to assigned app activities, collaborate with your teachers and other students, submit your work, and view your progress.
Announcements, assignments, and reminders from your teacher, also known as Handouts, automatically appear on the Schoolwork dashboard on your iPad, organized by class and due date. You can use the dashboard to view Handouts across all your classes and keep track of everything you need to do for the next week.
Your teachers can share content with you (PDFs, links, documents, activities within an app), even when you’re out of the classroom. Your teachers can easily view how you’re doing on an assignment, then individualize instruction based on your needs.
The Schoolwork app lets you:
View new Handouts and Handouts due in the coming week (not all Handouts have an associated due date).
View messages, work on assigned activities, and submit work to teachers. You can submit work from the Schoolwork app or use the Share button in the app where you did your work (for example, after creating a video in Clips, you can use the Share button and choose Schoolwork as the share destination).
Collaborate with teachers and other students on Handout items (for example, editing an essay in Pages for iOS). Depending on how your teacher chose to share a collaborative file, you can edit the item and view feedback from your teacher and other students while actively working on the item.
View progress. You can work on assigned activities, then use your student progress view to see how you are doing overall in your class and with each activity.
When teachers assign an activity in a progress-reporting app, the app automatically sends information about how you are doing as you complete the activity in the app. For other activities (for example, a link or PDF), you and your teacher only see whether or not you marked the activity complete. When your teacher requests an item or gives you a copy of a file to work on, you and your teacher see whether or not you marked the item complete, as well as the work you submitted.
