If an altered app asks for access to your keychain on Mac

This app has been securely signed and its signature has not been compromised. However, the app has been modified since it was opened. Keychain Access requests your permission to provide the app with your password.

Important: If you think the change is suspicious, select Deny, then try quitting and reopening the app.

Select one of the following:

  • Allow Once: Grant access to your keychain this time only. You’ll be asked again the next time the app needs the password.

  • Always Allow: Let the app retrieve the password from your keychain without any further authorization or notice from you. If the identity of the app cannot be securely established, this option won’t be available.

  • Deny: Prevent the app from retrieving the password from your keychain. You need to enter the password manually.
