iPhone 12 mini TrueDepth Camera
Before You Begin

The TrueDepth camera includes one or more lasers. Disassembly of the TrueDepth camera, damage to the TrueDepth camera, or failure to use genuine Apple parts could expose you to hazardous infrared laser emissions, possibly resulting in injuries to eyes or skin.
Caution
This procedure requires TrueDepth Camera Configuration. To perform TrueDepth Camera Configuration you will need the following:
A Mac with the latest version of Apple Service Utility installed. You'll also need to install iPhone Repair – TrueDepth Camera resources, located in the Apple Service Utility Resources window.
The device must be running the latest version of iOS.
Internet access
A Lightning cable
After you’ve completed all removal and reassembly steps and installed Apple Service Utility on a Mac, learn how to initiate the TrueDepth Camera Configuration process at support.apple.com/self-service-repair.
Removal
Place the enclosure in the repair tray with the Lightning connector facing the cutout.
Lift the ends of the three TrueDepth camera flex cables from the connectors on the logic board.
Use tweezers to gently grasp the TrueDepth camera and slightly pull the tweezers toward the right (1). Then slide the TrueDepth camera out from underneath the lip of the enclosure and release the grounding pin (2).
Reassembly
Caution: Use nitrile gloves when handling the TrueDepth Camera.
Inspect the back of the TrueDepth camera (661-23797) to ensure the grounding springs are not damaged and the grounding foam has not shifted. If the grounding springs are damaged or the grounding foam has shifted, use a new module.
Slide the left edge of the TrueDepth camera underneath the lip of the enclosure first to engage the grounding pin (1). Then slide the right edge of the TrueDepth camera underneath the lip of the enclosure (2).
Visually inspect the alignment is correct and the grounding pin is fully seated.
Connect the three TrueDepth camera flex cables to the logic board in the order shown.
Use tweezers to remove the protective lens caps from the TrueDepth camera.
Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
