Let another person use your Apple Vision Pro with Guest User

Share your Apple Vision Pro with others and control which apps they can use.

If you're using visionOS 2.4 or later, a guest can begin a session by putting on your Apple Vision Pro. You can then authorize their access using your iPhone or iPad. Alternatively, while wearing the device, you can initiate a guest session before handing it over.

Check these things first

  • Update your devices. To start a Guest User session using your iPhone or iPad, you need visionOS 2.4 or later. You also need iOS 18.4 or later (or iPadOS 18.4 or later).

  • Turn on the feature. On your Vision Pro, open Settings, then tap Optic ID & Passcode. Tap Enable Guest User with Nearby Device, then tap the iPhone or iPad that you want to use.

Allow a Guest User session from your iPhone or iPad

  1. Have your guest put on your Apple Vision Pro. A prompt appears that says Press Digital Crown for Guest User.

  2. Ask your guest to press the Digital Crown. Your iPhone or iPad asks if you want to allow the Guest User session.

  3. Tap Continue on your iPhone or iPad.

  4. Tap Start with All Apps to begin, or tap Select Apps to choose the apps your guest can use. The Guest User session begins after you select apps and tap Start.

If you have trouble, check these things:

  • Make sure you sign in to the same Apple Account with two-factor authentication on your Vision Pro and your iPhone or iPad.

  • Check that your devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.

  • Keep your Vision Pro and iPhone or iPad near each other.

See what your guest sees

When you approve a Guest User session, your iPhone or iPad mirrors your guest's view. If View Mirroring doesn't begin automatically, tap the Guest User button at the top of your iPhone or iPad screen.

An iPhone screen shows the Guest User button that appears at the top of the iPhone screen when Guest User session begins on Apple Vision Pro.

To leave View Mirroring, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap the close button.

To return to View Mirroring, tap the Guest User button in Control Center or on the Lock Screen. You can also tap the Apple Vision Pro Live Activities button at the top of your iPhone screen.

Start a guest session while you're wearing Apple Vision Pro

  1. Open Control Center.

  2. Tap Guest User on the right.

  3. Tap All Apps. To restrict access, tap Select Apps, then scroll down and tap each app that you want your guest to use.

  4. Tap Start, then hand your Vision Pro to your guest. If they don't put on Vision Pro within five minutes, Guest User turns off and Vision Pro locks.

Let your guest know what to expect when they put on Apple Vision Pro

First, your guest might have to press and hold the Digital Crown until the displays align and a green check mark appears.

If your guest was the most recent person to use your Apple Vision Pro in Guest User mode, they can press the Digital Crown to continue as that user. Or they can use the Digital Crown to select Set Up as New Guest.

If your guest selected Set Up as New Guest, they see a window asking them to bring their iPhone or iPad nearby. This will allow them to save their setup to their device,* or use setup information they've saved previously. If your guest doesn't want to use an iPhone or iPad, they can double-click the Digital Crown to continue.

If your guest is new, they see a brief video about using Vision Pro, then go through eye and hand setup. If your guest has saved setup info from a previous Guest User session, they can begin using Vision Pro immediately.

Your guest can customize their experience in Control Center:

  1. Open Control Center.

  2. Tap Guest User on the right.

  3. In the menu that appears, your guest can redo their eye and hand setup, change accessibility options, and more.

If your guest customizes accessibility settings and saves their profile, those adjustments stay in place next time they use your device. Accessibility settings that your guest configures don't affect your accessibility preferences.

*Saving Vision Pro setup to iPhone or iPad requires visionOS 26 or later on your Vision Pro. Your guest's device needs iOS 26 or later, or iPadOS 26 or later.

Learn what your guest can access

  • Your guest can see all the information in apps that you allow them to use. For example, if they use the Music app, your guest can see your playlists and recently played music.

  • They can access certain visionOS controls and data. This includes your selections in Control Center, even if you don't allow access to any apps.

  • They can view your health data in apps that you make available to them, and save their health data to those apps.

  • They cannot access your Persona, Optic ID, or Apple Pay information.

  • If you've set a passcode on your Vision Pro, they cannot access areas in Settings such as Apple Account, Wallet, Health Data, and Privacy & Security.

End a Guest User session

The session ends when your guest takes off your Apple Vision Pro. You can also tap the close button next to the Guest User window on your iPhone or iPad lock screen. The next time you put on Vision Pro, it returns automatically to your settings.
