Vector layer
A layer composed of graphics made of mathematically calculated paths—curved or straight lines that connect two or more points to create lines or shapes. You can add, move, or delete points to reshape a vector path however you like. Vector paths can be open or closed, and you can combine multiple paths to create complex shapes.
Because vector layers are resolution-independent, you can scale them up or down without losing quality (as opposed to raster layers, which are resolution-dependent).
