Take

A take is a term used to describe a recording made in a single session, often for a section or part of a song.

In Logic Pro for Mac, you can create multiple takes in quick succession using the Cycle mode. When you record multiple takes, a take folder is created on the track, containing the take recordings.

After recording, you can preview the takes and choose the one you want to use in the project. You can also select the best parts from several takes and combine them into a composite take, known as a comp.
