Transfer an eSIM and data from your iPhone or iPad to an Android device

In iOS 26.3 and iPadOS 26.3, you can transfer your data and eSIM to an Android device using the built-in camera or Settings app.

Before you begin

  • Update your devices to the latest software.

  • Connect your iPhone or iPad to a Wi-Fi network.

  • Turn on Bluetooth for each device.

Scan a QR code to transfer eSIM, photos, contacts, calendars, call history, messages, and more

  1. Begin the setup process on your Android device.

  2. Use the Camera app on your iPhone or iPad to scan the QR code on your Android device and connect the devices.

  3. Select the data that you want to transfer—like photos, contacts, calendars, call history, or messages—then tap Continue.

  4. After your data transfer is complete, tap Continue to transfer your eSIM.

  5. Double-click the side button on your iPhone or iPad when prompted to confirm the eSIM transfer.

When you use your iPhone or iPad to transfer data to a new device, your accessibility settings, Home Screen layout, and wallpaper transfer automatically.

To use the transfer feature, you need a compatible version of Android 16. Check with your device manufacturer.

To transfer an eSIM, you need a supported carrier (USA: AT&T, FirstNet, T-Mobile, Verizon; Japan: KDDI; Germany: DT-DE; France: SFR; and UK: EE).

Use Settings to start the data transfer process

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Settings app.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap Transfer or Reset Phone.

  4. Tap Transfer to Android.

    In the Settings app on iOS 26.3, you can manually start the transfer process to move data or an eSIM to an Android device.
  5. Place your devices next to each other and tap Continue on your iPhone or iPad.

  6. Use the Camera app to scan the setup process QR code on your Android device to connect the phones.

  7. Select the data that you want to transfer—like photos, contacts, calendars, call history, or messages—then tap Continue.

  8. After your data transfer is complete, tap Continue to transfer your eSIM.

  9. Double-click the side button on your iPhone or iPad when prompted to confirm the eSIM transfer.

If you can’t scan the QR code when you try to transfer data or an eSIM

When you transfer data or your eSIM from your iPhone or iPad to an Android device, you can use the Camera app to scan a QR code on your Android device to continue the transfer process. If you can’t scan the QR code, you can instead enter your details manually to finish the transfer process.

  1. On the transfer process QR code screen, tap Other Options.

  2. Locate the session ID and pairing code on your Android device. If you don’t see this information, tap Other Options on your Android device.

  3. Enter the session ID and pairing code on your iPhone or iPad and tap Continue to continue the transfer process.

Use Settings on your iPhone or iPad to transfer only an eSIM

  1. On your Android device, go to Settings and begin the process to set up an eSIM.

  2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Settings app.

  3. Tap Cellular.

  4. Under Transfer to Android, tap Transfer eSIM.

  5. Place your devices next to each other and tap Continue on your iPhone or iPad.

  6. Use the Camera app to scan the QR code on your Android device to connect the phones.

  7. Select the phone number that you want to transfer from your iPhone or iPad to the Android device.

  8. After your data transfer is complete, tap Continue to transfer your eSIM.

  9. Double-click the side button on your iPhone or iPad when prompted to confirm the eSIM transfer.

Once you select a number and complete the transfer process, the number will no longer work on your iPhone or iPad.
