What is Express Replacement Service?

As a benefit of your AppleCare plan, we’ll send you a replacement device you can start using right away. You won’t have to wait for your original device to be repaired and returned.

How does it work?

Start your request

Sign in to access your AppleCare benefits and arrange Express Replacement Service. We’ll send the replacement device and place a temporary hold on your credit card.

Receive your replacement

When your replacement device arrives, you can set it up, transfer your apps and data, and pick up right where you left off. Then you’ll erase your original device and get it ready to return.

Return your original device

We’ll include everything you need to return your original device within 10 business days. Once we confirm that the issue is covered, we’ll remove the hold from your credit card, and you’re all set.

What devices are eligible?

With AppleCare, you can request Express Replacement Service for your covered iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro*, AirPods, Beats, HomePod, and Apple TV.

How much does Express Replacement Service cost?

Express Replacement Service is a benefit of AppleCare. If your device has accidental damage, you’ll pay the “accidental damage” or “other accidental damage” AppleCare service fee. To find AppleCare service fees, choose your product here. If we find additional damage not covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare, or applicable consumer law, you will be charged either the retail price or an out-of-warranty fee, depending on the extent of the damage. Are replacement devices guaranteed by Apple?

We guarantee our service and replacement parts for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty, whichever is longer, as outlined in our Apple Repair Terms and Conditions. This is in addition to your rights provided by consumer law or an AppleCare plan where it applies. Equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements.

* For Apple Vision Pro, Express Replacement Service is only available for accidental damage claims or certain battery-only claims, subject to availability, capability, and local law at the time you seek service.
