Mask
A special kind of layer that applies transparency to an image layer nondestructively, without permanently erasing pixels. This means that you can refine your edits at any time, adjust the visibility of edits, or combine multiple images seamlessly. In Pixelmator Pro, when you apply a mask to an image layer, the mask layer is shown under the image layer in the Layers sidebar. When you select the mask layer, you can paint areas of transparency in the canvas using a variety of tools. You can also invert the transparency, or edit it using any of the selection or retouching tools.
