Change audio settings during an Apple Fitness+ activity
In Apple Fitness+, you can set audio preferences like deciding whether you want to focus on the trainer’s voice or music during a workout, or turn on audio hints that provide additional spoken cues to describe what the trainer is doing. You can also change the audio language with dubbed audio and turn on standard captions and subtitles.
Adjust audio
Go to the Fitness app on
iPhone or iPad, then (on iPhone) tap Fitness+.During the workout, tap
, then do any of the following:Turn on audio hints: Tap Audio Hints, then tap On. To adjust the speed, tap the speed you prefer.
Adjust audio focus: Tap Audio Focus, then tap Trainer or Music.
Note: Audio Focus isn’t available in Time to Walk and Time to Run workouts, or in audio and video meditations.
Change the audio language
During a workout or meditation, when you select an audio language other than English, you can get dubbed audio using a generated version of the trainer’s voice in that language (available in Spanish and German with iOS 26.1 or iPadOS 26.1, or later, for selected workouts and meditations).
Note: For selected Time to Run episodes, audio dubbing is available in Spanish and German with iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1 or watchOS 26.2, or later. For selected audio meditations on Apple Watch, audio dubbing is available in Spanish and German with watchOS 26.2 or later.
Go to the Fitness app
on iPhone or iPad, then (on iPhone) tap Fitness+.During the workout, tap
.Tap a language below Audio Track.
You can also change the audio language in Settings. Go to the Fitness app
, then (on iPhone) tap Summary. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner, tap Fitness+, tap Audio Language, then choose a language.
Turn on captions and subtitles
All Apple Fitness+ workouts and meditations support standard captions, as well as subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH).
Note: Subtitles are not available in all languages.
Go to the Fitness app
on iPhone or iPad, then (on iPhone) tap Fitness+.During the workout, tap
, tap Subtitles, then choose an option.
