If Terminal on your Mac beeps as you type
If Terminal is set to emulate a VT-100 terminal, some keys are deactivated on the keyboard. When you press a deactivated key, Terminal beeps to indicate that the character wasn’t accepted. You can change the type of terminal being emulated in Terminal settings.
In the Terminal app on your Mac, choose Terminal > Settings, then click Profiles.
In the Profiles list, select a profile.
Click Advanced.
Below Terminfo, click the “Declare terminal as” pop-up menu, then choose the type of terminal.
Below Input, select checkboxes to adjust keyboard input and Terminal behavior.
