If you don't have enough storage to update your Apple Watch

Learn what to do if your Apple Watch storage is full or if you need more available storage to install a watchOS update.

When you try to update watchOS, you might see a notification that you need more available storage.

Try this first

Restart your Apple Watch, then try updating it.

If you still can't update, free up storage space by removing music, turning off photo syncing, and removing some apps. Then try updating your watch. After you update, you can add back the music, photos, and apps that you removed.

To check how much available storage your watch has, open the Settings app, tap General, then tap Storage.
