You can use Apple Pay in stores, in apps, on the web, and for transit in some countries and regions. To confirm where you can use Apple Pay, contact the merchant.
In stores
Use Apple Pay wherever you see one of these symbols.1,2 Or search for Apple Pay in Maps to see nearby stores that accept Apple Pay.
In China mainland, use Apple Pay wherever you see one of these symbols.3
In Japan, use Apple Pay wherever you see the EMV Contactless symbol. If you have one of the logos below, you can also pay with Apple Pay. Make sure to tell the staff which card you want to pay with at checkout.
Online and in apps
Use Apple Pay wherever you see the Apple Pay button, Apple Pay listed as a payment method, or wherever you see an Apple Pay symbol.4
Some stores might have this symbol on their card readers and point of sale terminals, but they might not be currently set up to accept contactless payments, including Apple Pay.
In addition to accepting Apple Pay, a merchant must accept your card's payment network. For in-store purchases, the merchant's payment devices must have NFC Contactless enabled.
In China mainland, you can use Apple Pay on the web in Safari only on compatible iPhone and iPad models using iOS 11.2 or later. In China mainland, using Apple Pay with a third-party browser is not available.
Use on compatible third-party web browsers requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later. iPhone and iPad users can use Apple Pay on such third-party web browsers by scanning a code with their iPhone or iPad. Compatible browsers require WebSocket support. Apple Pay on third-party web browsers is available with participating merchants and is not available in all markets.
To use Apple Pay you need a supported card from a participating card issuer. To check if your card is compatible with Apple Pay, contact your card issuer. Apple Pay is not available in all markets. View Apple Pay countries and regions.
