Softcard III: Problems using .RS232, .PRINTER and CP/M
This article has been archived and is no longer updated by Apple.
Both the .RS232 and .PRINTER drivers were designed to use the built in serial
port (Port C) on the Apple III. If one configures the CP/M system such that
both of these drivers are active and assigned to logical devices, the first
attempt to send or receive characters causes the system to crash with an
inverse S D (System Death) displayed on the console. Reboot your system to
recover.
