Remove fonts

When you remove a font, Font Book places it in the Trash. You can move the font from the Trash into an archive folder or disc, or you can permanently delete the font from the Trash.

Removed fonts are not visible in either Font Book or the Fonts window.

Remove fonts associated with the Computer or Network collection

  1. Log in to your computer using an administrator account.
  2. In the Collection column, select Computer or Network.
  3. In the Font column, select one or more fonts or font styles. (To select multiple non-adjacent items, hold down the Command key and click each item.)

If the font has a lock icon next to the font name at the bottom of the Font Book window, you can’t remove the font.

  4. Choose File > Remove.
