AirPort Utility 6.x: Extend the range of a wireless network

AirPort Utility makes it simple to extend the range of a Wi-Fi network.
If you set up a guest network on the network you’re extending, you can extend it as well.
- Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. Select the base station you want to set up, then click Edit. Enter the password if necessary.
- Click Wireless, then choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Network Mode pop-up menu.
- Choose the network you want to extend from the Wireless Network Name pop-up menu.
- Enter the network password if necessary.
If your base stations are connected using Ethernet, see “Use multiple base stations in an Ethernet network” to extend the range of the wireless network.
