OS X Lion: The Login Items pane of Users & Groups preferences
You can have applications, documents, or server connections open automatically when you log in to your computer.
| Preference | Explanation |

| List of items | This list shows the items that open automatically at login. |
| Hide checkbox | If you want the windows for an item to remain closed after login, click the Hide checkbox next to it. This option has no effect on server connections; server connections always appear in the Finder after login. |
| Item column | The item column shows the name of the application, document, or connection that opens automatically. |
| Kind column | The Kind column shows the kind of items that open automatically. |
| Add (+) and Delete (-) buttons | To have an item open automatically at login, click Add (+), and then select the item. To stop an item from opening automatically, select the name of the item in the list, and then click Delete (-). |
