Remove parental controls from a user account

You can use Parental Controls preferences or Users & Groups preferences to remove parental controls from a user account.

  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Parental Controls, if necessary click the lock to unlock it and enter an administrator name and password, select the account, and then choose “Turn off Parental Controls” from the Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear).
  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Users & Groups, if necessary click the lock to unlock it and enter an administrator name and password, select the account, and then deselect “Enable parental controls.”
