Keynote for iOS (iPhone, iPod touch): Present on a separate display

If you’re using Apple TV and are mirroring your display, you won’t see the presenter display on your device.

Use the presenter display

  1. Connect an external display to your device with AirPlay or a video adapter.

  2. Tap Play button.

A green light next to the slide number indicates that the last transition or build effect on the current slide has finished playing, and you can tap to advance to the next build or slide.

A red light next to the slide number indicates that a slide transition or slide build hasn’t finished playing; you can’t advance to the next build effect or the next slide until the current transition or build is completed.

  3. Pinch the slide or tap Stop playback button to exit the presenter display and stop playing your presentation.

Customize the presenter display

Change the layout to see the current slide, next slide, presenter notes, or any combination: Tap Layout button from the presenter display, then select from the options.

Note: In a side-by-side layout, when the next slide doesn’t immediately appear, a slide transition or build is still playing on the current slide. The next slide appears only when the presentation is ready to advance.

Switch between the clock and the timer: Tap the clock or timer at the top of the presenter display.

The timer starts the first time you tap or swipe to advance the presentation after the first slide is displayed.
