Downloads folder

The Downloads folder is the default location for files you download from the Internet. Most apps you use to download items, such as Safari or Messages, place items in the Downloads folder.

By default, the Downloads folder is available in the Finder sidebar and in the Dock. In the Dock, the folder is also called a stack.
