OS X El Capitan: Use a PPP connection terminal script
Some ISPs may require a PPP connection terminal script to connect to the Internet using a modem. Contact your ISP for the terminal script.
-
In the Finder, hold down the Option key, then choose Go > Library.
-
If the Library folder does not contain a Terminal Scripts folder, you need to create it. Choose File > New Folder, then name the new folder Terminal Scripts.
-
Copy the terminal script file from your ISP to the Terminal Scripts folder.
-
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network.
-
Choose your modem service from the network connection services list, then click Advanced.
-
Click PPP, click the Settings pop-up menu, then choose Configuration.
-
Click the Terminal Scripts pop-up menu, then choose your connection script.
-
Click OK, then click Apply.
If the Terminal Scripts pop-up menu is dimmed, then the script is not being recognized. Check that the script is valid and that it’s installed in the correct location.
