Quickly get to the info you want

As you type in the Smart Search field, Safari provides Safari Suggestions for news, Wikipedia articles, iTunes music, weather forecasts, professional sports team and player info, stock prices, help from Apple, locations, and more, as well as suggestions from your search engine. Learn more.

Pin your favorite websites

Pin Facebook, LinkedIn, or any other website you visit frequently throughout the day—just drag the tab with the website to the left side of the tab bar. Pinned Sites stay put on the left side of your tab bar so you can easily get to them at any time. Learn more.

Play web videos on your HDTV

With Apple TV and AirPlay, you can play web videos on your HDTV—without showing everything else on your desktop. Just click the AirPlay icon on compatible web videos. Learn more.

Mute audio from any tab

Don’t know where the sound is coming from? Now you can mute audio right from the Smart Search field. Learn more.

Get webpages from your other devices

a Safari Handoff icon appears on the left side of the Dock on your Mac or on the Lock screen on your iOS device. Click or swipe the icon to open Safari to the webpage you were viewing.

 

With iCloud, you can also view all the webpages you have open on your other Mac computers (OS X v10.8.2 or later) and iOS devices (iOS 6 or later)—just click the Show All Tabs button . Learn more.

Keep it private

Clear your browsing history and cookies at any time by choosing History > Clear History, or change your cookie preferences in the Privacy pane of Safari preferences.

If you don’t want Safari to save your browsing history, use a Private Browsing window—just choose File > New Private Window. When you use a Private Browsing window, Safari also asks websites not to track you. Learn more.
