Show full website address |
Have the Smart Search field show the full address of the website you’re viewing instead of just the domain name. For example, it shows www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/ instead of apple.com. |
Page Zoom |
Set the default for all webpages (text and images). |
Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage |
Move around a webpage to highlight links and buttons without using the mouse. |
Include Bonjour in the Bookmarks menu |

Include Bonjour in the Favorites bar |
Add a bookmarks folder for webpages of nearby Bonjour computers and printers. |
Stop plug-ins to save power |
Freezes plug-ins after a brief time. You can click a frozen plug-in on a website to start the plug-in. The plug-in stays enabled for that website, though other instances of the same plug-in on the current webpage remain temporarily frozen until the page is loaded again. Safari automatically disables plug-ins for a website you don’t visit for a few weeks. To see a list of websites that currently start plug-ins automatically, click Details. Then remove websites from the list to save power. |
Style sheet |
To use your own your own CSS instead of webpage style sheets, click the pop-up menu and choose Other. |
Default encoding |
Use an encoding appropriate for the language of the webpages you view most often. This option is useful if webpages appear garbled. To change the encoding for a specific webpage, view the page in Safari, then choose View > Text Encoding. |
Proxies |

Show Develop menu in menu bar |
Access tools for developing websites with Safari. |
