Font Book (El Capitan): Restore standard fonts

Restore standard fonts

You can restore the fonts that came with your Mac to their original installed states. This may be useful if you’re having issues with Font Book. Restoring the standard fonts moves any fonts you’ve installed into a separate folder, which uninstalls them. This has no effect on the fonts originally installed on your Mac.

Choose File > Restore Standard Fonts.

This places the fonts you’ve installed into a folder named “Fonts (Removed),” which makes them unavailable in apps.

Note:   You can find your removed fonts in /Library/Fonts (Removed) and ~/Library/Fonts (Removed).
