FaceTime for Mac (El Capitan): Set preferences
To view FaceTime preferences, open FaceTime, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. You can set the following options.
| Sign Out | Click Sign Out to stop receiving FaceTime calls on your Mac. You need to sign in to use FaceTime. See Turn FaceTime off. |
| Enable this account | Deselect Enable this account to stop receiving FaceTime calls on your Mac. You can reenable the account without signing in again. See Turn FaceTime off. |
| You can be reached for FaceTime at | Select email addresses and phone numbers others use to call you using FaceTime. See Change your FaceTime email address and phone number. |
| Call from iPhone | Select Calls from iPhone to allow your Mac to use your iPhone to make and receive phone calls. These calls use cellular minutes. |
| Start new calls from | If you have more than one email address or phone number set up, choose which one others see when you call them. |
| Ringtone | Choose the sound that is played when you receive a call. See Set ringtones. |
| Location | Change the location associated with your Apple ID to ensure your domestic calls use the correct telephone number format. |
| Default for calls | Choose the default app to start calls from. |
| Blocked | Click Blocked, then enter an address or phone number to block. See Block calls. |
