iCloud: Set up iCloud Drive and migrate from Documents & Data
Before you can use iCloud Drive on iCloud.com, you must upgrade your iCloud account to use iCloud Drive. You may have done this when you initially set up your iOS device or Mac. If you didn’t upgrade during setup, you can upgrade at any time simply by turning on iCloud Drive on your iOS device, Mac, or Windows computer. Then you can set up your other computers and iOS devices to use iCloud Drive.
Important: If you have devices set up for Documents & Data before you upgrade to iCloud Drive, your documents and data stored in iCloud are copied to iCloud Drive when you upgrade. Those documents and data are then available on all your devices set up for iCloud Drive.
Upgrade to iCloud Drive
When you’re ready to upgrade to iCloud Drive, do one of the following:
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, tap iCloud Drive, then tap Upgrade to iCloud Drive. If you don’t see Upgrade to iCloud Drive, your iCloud account is already upgraded.
On your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click iCloud, then select iCloud Drive. When asked if you want to upgrade to iCloud Drive, click Continue. If you’re not asked about upgrading to iCloud Drive, your iCloud account is already upgraded.
On your Windows computer: Open iCloud for Windows, select iCloud Drive, then click Apply. When asked if you want to upgrade to iCloud Drive, click Continue. If you’re not asked about upgrading to iCloud Drive, your iCloud account is already upgraded.
On iCloud.com: Go to Pages for iCloud, Numbers for iCloud, or Keynote for iCloud, then click Upgrade to iCloud Drive. If you don’t see Upgrade to iCloud Drive, your iCloud account is already upgraded. Be sure you use a Mac or Windows web browser recommended in the Apple Support article System requirements for iCloud.
Set up iCloud Drive on your other devices
You can set up iCloud Drive on your iOS devices (iOS 8 or later), Mac computers (OS X v10.10 or later), and Windows computers with iCloud for Windows installed (Windows 7 or 8 required).
If you don’t turn on iCloud Drive on a device, the documents and data on that device aren’t kept up to date with the documents and data on your other devices that have iCloud Drive turned on.
Do any of the following:
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, tap iCloud Drive, then tap to turn on iCloud Drive.
On your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click iCloud, then select iCloud Drive.
On your Windows computer: Open iCloud for Windows, select iCloud Drive, then click Apply.
