Import images from a camera
After you import photos you can edit the images in Preview

After you import photos from digital cameras and devices such as iPhone that contain cameras, you can edit the images in Preview.

  1. Connect your camera to your Mac, then turn the camera on.

    If the device is locked with a passcode, enter it.

  2. Choose File > Import from [camera name].

    If more than one camera is connected to your Mac, choose File > Import from Camera > [camera name].

    A window appears with thumbnail images of all the photos on your camera.

  3. Use the buttons at the bottom of the window to view the thumbnails in a list () or to see larger thumbnails (), or to rotate () images.

    Drag the slider in the lower-right corner of the window to change the size of the thumbnails.

    To permanently delete images from the camera, select them, then click the Delete button .

  4. To import only some of the photos, select them, then click Import. To import all the photos on the camera, click Import All.

  5. Choose where to save the images, then click Choose Destination.

    The images are imported to that location and opened in one window in Preview.
