Find My Friends: Set restrictions

Set restrictions

You can set up restrictions for Find My Friends on your iOS device so that anyone else who uses it can’t:

  • Accept or decline new requests to be followed

  • Share locations with new friends or remove existing friends

  • Hide from followers

For example, if you’re a parent, you can limit the people who follow your child’s location.

  1. On the device you want to restrict, tap Find My Friends.

  2. If you want, share your location or remove followers now, because you can’t after you restrict the device.

If you’re a parent restricting your child’s device, you might want to share your child’s location with yourself, for example.

  3. Press the Home button on the device to go to the Home screen.

  4. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, then turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions if it’s not already turned on.

  5. Tap Share My Location below Privacy, then tap Don’t Allow.

After you set up restrictions for Find My Friends, you can’t turn off Location Services on that device. However, you can turn on Location Services if it wasn’t on before you set restrictions.
