If Image Capture doesn’t open when you connect a device

If Image Capture doesn’t open when you connect a scanner or camera to your computer, change Image Capture preference settings.

  1. Open Image Capture.
  2. Connect your device to your computer, then turn the device on.

    If the device is locked with a passcode, enter it.

  3. Select the device in the Devices list.
  4. Choose Image Capture from the “Connecting this [device] opens” pop-up menu.

    Click “Show device settings” if you don’t see that pop-up menu.
