iTunes 10 for Mac: Rent movies from the iTunes Store
You can rent movies from the iTunes Store. You can rent and play items on your computer, iPod, iPhone, or iPad. If you have an Apple TV, you can use it to rent items and play them on your home theater system.
A rented item expires 30 days after you rent it or 24 hours after you begin playing it, whichever comes first. Expired rentals are deleted automatically. The same time limits apply to rentals on computers and devices.
You can transfer rented movies from your computer to your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, if your device is able to play the rented item. You can also transfer rentals from your device to your computer.
To rent items from the iTunes Store using your computer:
-
In iTunes, click iTunes Store (below Store, on the left side of the iTunes window).

-
In the iTunes Store, click Movies at the top of the iTunes Store window.

-
Browse or search for a movie you want to rent.
-
Choose Rent Movie (if you don’t see this button, the item isn’t available for rent).

The rental downloads to your iTunes library.
To transfer a rental from your iTunes library to iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV:
-
Connect your device to your computer.
-
In iTunes, select your device (below Devices).
