Pages for Mac 5.0: Paragraph styles overview
Every Pages template includes predesigned paragraph styles that specify a font and size, color, and other attributes for text. Applying paragraph styles to text ensures a consistent look for the text in your document.
If you make changes to text that uses a paragraph style, Pages indicates a style override in the Style pane of the Format inspector. You can keep the override for that text without affecting other text that uses the style, or you can update the style so all the text that uses it is changed to match.
You can also create a new paragraph style based on the changes you make to text. Your new style is added to the other styles shown in the Paragraph Styles menu, where you can rename it or delete styles you don’t use. For example, if you change a paragraph that uses the “Subtitle” style so the text is blue and bold instead of regular black text, you can create a new paragraph style (Subtitle 2) that incorporates the changes. You can then easily apply the new style to other text in your document.
