OS X Mavericks: Change iCloud feature settings
If you want to change feature settings after setting up iCloud on your Mac, use iCloud preferences or Internet Accounts preferences.
- To change feature settings after setting up iCloud on your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then turn features on or off.
Some features have additional settings you can change by clicking the Options button near the feature name when the feature is turned on.
- To change your iCloud Security Code settings after turning on iCloud Keychain, open iCloud preferences, then click Account Details.
You can change whether your iCloud Security Code can be used to approve iCloud Keychain on new devices. You can also change the iCloud Security Code or the phone number used to verify your identity after you use the iCloud Security Code.
- If you set up more than one iCloud account on your Mac and want to change feature settings for an account not shown in iCloud preferences, open Internet Accounts preferences, select the account you want to change, then turn features on or off.
One iCloud account appears in both iCloud preferences and Internet Accounts preferences, and you can change its feature settings in either place. That account can use all iCloud features, but other iCloud accounts shown in Internet Accounts preferences can use only Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes.
If you turn on Contacts while your Contacts app is synced with Google Contacts, Google syncing is turned off. You should keep it turned off while using iCloud for your contacts.
Turning off features removes information stored in iCloud from your Mac apps. The information is still available on your other devices that have those iCloud features turned on. Your information reappears in your Mac apps when you turn on the features again.
If you turn off Contacts or Keychain, you’re asked whether you want your Mac to keep a copy of the iCloud data. While Contacts or Keychain is turned off, contact or keychain data on your Mac isn’t updated automatically with changes from your other devices. Likewise, contact or keychain changes made on your Mac don’t appear on your other devices.
Before turning off Documents & Data, you can copy documents to your Mac. For more information, see:

If you turn off the Safari feature, the Safari app keeps a copy of your bookmarks and Reading List, but iCloud no longer updates them.
Before turning off Photos, make sure you import items you want to keep from My Photo Stream and shared photo streams into iPhoto or Aperture.
