OS X Mavericks: Set print options
When you choose File > Print, the Print dialog opens. You use the Print dialog to set options that determine how a document is printed. You can choose the number of copies, change how colors appear, print several pages on a single sheet of paper, and more.
The Print dialog also lets you create a PDF or PostScript document.
Set basic print options
The basic Print dialog lets you set the printer you want to use, the number of copies, and a page range. You can choose a group of preset print options if there are any for the printer you’re using. Additional options, such as two-sided printing, may appear in the simplified view, depending on your selected printer and the current app.
Set advanced options
The full Print dialog lets you set the basic print options, save a group of print options as a preset, and select the paper size and orientation. More options are displayed below the print options pop-up menu (the pop-up menu within the separator bar). These options change depending on your selected printer and the current app. For more information about these options, see the documentation that came with your printer or app.
