OS X Mavericks: If you can’t open an app

If you can’t open an app

You may not have the privileges to open the app, or the app may be damaged, or may not be installed.

  • If you aren’t an administrator of your Mac, the administrator may be preventing you from using the app. Talk to the person who administers the Mac.
  • The app may be damaged. Try reinstalling it.

    If the app came with your Mac, you may need to reinstall OS X to reinstall the app. If you still can’t open the app, contact the app’s manufacturer.
