Set up iCloud Photo Sharing

After setting up iCloud Photo Sharing, you can create shared albums and subscribe to shared albums created by others. If you’re a member of a Family Sharing group, a shared album named Family is created automatically. On your iOS device

  • On your iOS 9 or iOS 8 device: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos (or Settings > Photos & Camera), then turn on iCloud Photo Sharing.

  • On your iOS 7 device: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos (or Settings > Photos & Camera), then turn on Photo Sharing.

On a Mac using Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture

On Apple TV (4th generation)

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud, then turn on iCloud Photo Sharing.

On Apple TV (3rd generation and earlier)

  1. Go to Settings > iCloud.

  2. Select Sign In, press the center button on your remote, then follow the onscreen instructions to enter the Apple ID and password you use with iCloud.

  3. Select iCloud Photo Settings, press the center button on your remote, select Turn On Photo Sharing, then press the center button on your remote again.

On a Windows computer

  1. Install iCloud for Windows if it isn’t already installed on your computer.

  2. Open iCloud for Windows, then turn on Photos.

    iCloud Photo Sharing is set up by default. To turn it off, click Options, then turn off iCloud Photo Sharing.

  3. To change the iCloud Photo Sharing location on your computer, click Options. Click Change to choose a folder, then click OK.

  4. Click Apply.
