Keyboard shortcuts in Mail

You can use your keyboard to quickly accomplish many tasks in Mail. To find the shortcuts for common commands, look to the right of each command in the menus, or see the menu shortcuts listed below.

The Command key is the ⌘ key on your keyboard.

Hold down the Mail icon in the Dock

Display Mail in full-screen mode

Click the full-screen icon at the upper-right corner of the Mail viewer window. To exit full-screen mode, move the pointer to the top of the desktop to display the menu bar, and then click the full-screen icon at the far right of the menu bar.

Work with mailboxes

 

Go to Inbox

Command-1

Go to other favorite mailboxes

Command-2, Command-3, and so on

Show or hide the Favorites bar

Show or hide the mailbox list in the sidebar

Select the search field

Hold down the Option key when you delete a message.
