Sync contacts across devices

You can sync contacts using iTunes so that each device you use (iPhone, iPad, or iPod) has the same information.

If your contacts are hosted online (for example, using iCloud or Yahoo!), just set up your contact accounts on each device and computer you use. Then, your contacts are kept up to date everywhere.

  1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac.

If iTunes doesn’t open, open iTunes.

  2. Select your device, click the Info (or Contacts) tab, and then select the “Sync contacts” checkbox.
  3. Select whether to sync all contacts or only the groups you select.
  4. Select any other options you want, and then click Apply.

Your contacts are updated each time you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac.
