OS X Mountain Lion: Connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi

If you have an Wi-Fi Card in your computer, you can connect to the Internet wirelessly by joining a wireless network that’s connected to the Internet.
If the network you’re joining is protected by a password, you need to enter it before you can join the network.
If you have an AirPort Base Station that is set up to use a dial-up or PPP connection to the Internet, it connects automatically when you open an app that requires a connection.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Network.
- Select Wi-Fi in the list of network connection services and choose a wireless network from the Network Name pop-up menu. If you are prompted for a password, enter it. If the network you want to join is not in the list, choose Join Other Network, and then enter the network name and password.
If the base station or wireless router on your Wi-Fi network has a continuous connection to the Internet, you are already connected when you join the network.
For help setting up an AirPort Base Station to connect to the Internet, use AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
