How to erase an eSIM on your iPhone or iPad

Erase an eSIM if you transferred its data plan or phone number to another device. Also, erase it if you are going to sell, trade in, or give away your device.

Don't erase an eSIM as a troubleshooting step unless directed to by your carrier.

If you erase an eSIM, you'll need to contact your carrier to get a new one. Then set up the new eSIM.

Erase an eSIM on your iPhone

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Cellular.

  3. If you have a single plan, tap Delete eSIM.

  4. If you have multiple plans, tap the plan that you want to erase. Then tap Delete Plan.

Erase an eSIM on your iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Cellular Data.

  3. If you have a single plan, tap Delete eSIM.

  4. If you have multiple plans, tap the plan you want to erase. Then tap Delete Plan.

If you erase all content and settings from your iPhone or iPad, you can choose to erase your eSIM or keep it.

If you want to cancel your cellular plan, you still need to contact your carrier to cancel the plan.
