Redeeming iTunes Gift Cards and content codes

Follow these steps to redeem your iTunes Gift Card or content code.

You can redeem iTunes Store Gift Cards and content codes in the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store.

If you already have an account, you can redeem your gift card without using a credit card. If you don’t have an account, you can create a new account without payment information.

Redeem your code

Select where you want to redeem your code:

 

Redeem your code on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Tap iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store on your device.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Featured section and tap Redeem. You will need to sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Tap "You can also enter your code manually."
    In some countries, you can redeem gift cards using your built-in camera.

  4. Enter your gift or content code and tap Redeem. If you have an iTunes Gift Card, use the 16-digit code on the back of the card that begins with X.

  5. After you redeem a gift card code, your iTunes account balance will update. You might need to sign out and back in for your balance to appear.

    If you redeemed a content code, your content will begin downloading.

Redeem your code on iTunes for Mac or PC

  1. Install the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.
  3. Click Sign In and enter your Apple ID.

  5. Enter your gift or content code and press Return. If you have an iTunes Gift Card, use the 16-digit code on the back of the card that begins with X. In some countries, you can redeem gift cards using your built-in camera.

  6. After you redeem a gift card code, your iTunes account balance will update. You might need to sign out and back in for your balance to appear.

Redeem your code on Mac App Store

  1. Open the Mac App Store.
  2. Click Redeem in the Quick Links section. You will need to sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Enter your gift or content code and press Return. If you have an iTunes Gift Card, use the 16-digit code on the back of the card that begins with X. In some countries, you can redeem gift cards using your built-in camera.

Redeem your code on iBooks for Mac

  1. Open iBooks and go to the iBooks Store.
  2. Click Redeem under the Quick Links section. You will need to sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Enter your gift or content code and press Return. If you have an iTunes Gift Card, use the 16-digit code on the back of the card that begins with X.

  4. After you redeem an iTunes Gift Card, your iTunes account balance will update.
    If you redeemed a content code, the book will begin downloading.
