Can I buy additional coverage for my iPad?
AppleCare+ gives you expert telephone support and additional hardware coverage up to two years from the day you bought your iPad. It also includes up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage. Each incident has a service fee. If you didn't buy AppleCare+ with your iPad, you can buy it within 60 days of your purchase.
You may also have consumer law rights. Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare+ benefits are in addition to your rights under consumer law.
Out-of-warranty service
Repairs are considered out of warranty when:
- Your iPad is over one year old
- Your iPad has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications
We might be able to fix or replace your iPad for an out-of-warranty fee. Your replacement iPad will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Battery service
If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we'll service it at no additional cost. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.
We might need to test your product to find the cause of your battery issue. If your iPad isn't covered, you have the option to replace it for a fee.
If you’re covered by AppleCare+ and your iPad can hold only 80 percent or less of its original battery capacity, we'll service your product at no charge.

Screen repair
If your iPad screen breaks accidentally, you might have the option to replace your iPad for an out-of-warranty fee. Accidental damage isn't covered by the Apple warranty. If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered by the Apple warranty and consumer law.
The cost to service an accidentally damaged screen depends on your iPad model, any additional damage, and if you have AppleCare+ coverage.
AppleCare+ for iPad includes up to two incidents of accidental damage, each with a service fee. You can use an instance for screen damage. If you don’t have AppleCare+, the out-of-warranty fee applies.
