Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports

Use the Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports to charge your computer, accessories, and devices—such as an iPhone or iPad. You can also use this port to connect to an external display or projector, or transfer data at Thunderbolt speeds (up to 40 Gbit/s with Thunderbolt 4 on MacBook Pro with M5 or 120 Gbit/s with Thunderbolt 5 on MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max).

If you have a device that doesn’t connect to this port, you can use an adapter to connect it. See the Apple Support article Adapters for the Thunderbolt or USB-C port on your Mac.
