Three-point editing

A technique for using a combination of three edit points in the browser and timeline to define which part of a browser clip to use and where to place it in the timeline. Of the four edit points that define an edit—the browser clip start point, the browser clip end point, the timeline start point, and the timeline end point—you can specify any three, and the fourth one is calculated automatically. The result of the edit depends on which three points you set.
