See if your Mac works with new products
When you’re considering buying a new hardware or software product, you can look at your system report to find out if your Mac meets the minimum requirements for the product, such as memory, processor speed, or video card requirements.
To see a system report for your Mac, do one of the following:
Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, click About on the right, then click System Report. (You may need to scroll down.)
On your Mac, press and hold the Option key, then choose Apple menu > System Information.
Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, click Other, then click System Information.
In general, if the configuration listed in System Information equals or exceeds the minimum requirements for the new product, you should be able to use it.
