Block and unblock channels and topics in News on Mac
If you don’t want to see stories from certain channels or about certain topics in Apple News, you can block them. If you change your mind later, you can unblock them.
When you block channels and topics, Apple News better understands your interests and can recommend stories that more closely match them.
Block channels or topics
In the News app on your Mac, do any of the following:
Block a followed channel or topic: Select the channel or topic in the sidebar (if you don’t see it, click in the toolbar), then click the Block button in the toolbar or choose File > Block Channel or File > Block Topic.
Block a suggested channel or topic: Move the pointer over the channel or topic in the sidebar (if you don’t see it, click in the toolbar), then click the Block icon that appears next to it.
Block a channel or topic group while browsing Today: Click the Block icon next to a channel or a topic group heading.
Some channels and topic groups, such as Science or Travel, let you choose Stop Suggesting instead. Apple News stops suggesting the channel or topic in the sidebar, and its stories no longer appear in the Today feed. If you change your mind and want Apple News to suggest the channel or topic again, browse or search for it, then follow it.
Stories from channels and topics you block no longer appear in Today or other feeds.
Unblock channels or topics
In the News app on your Mac, choose File > Manage Blocked Channels & Topics.
Click the Remove button for a channel or topic, click Remove, then click Done.
Stories from unblocked channels and topics can appear in Today and other feeds.
