Reset Shared iPad passcodes in Apple Business Manager
If a user forgets their Shared iPadpasscode, you can reset it for them in Apple Business Manager. If federated authentication is configured, this doesn’t change their federated password.
Reset Shared iPad passcodes
In Apple Business Manager , sign in with an account that has privileges to reset passwords, generate verification codes and create sign-in information. See Role privileges.
Tap Accounts in the sidebar, search for an account in the Search Accounts field, then select the account from the list. See Search for user accounts.
Tap More , then select Reset Shared iPad Passcode .
Enter a new passcode, tap Continue, select how the passcode will be delivered, then tap Continue.
If necessary (for federated authentication accounts) tap Sign Out Devices.
Do one of the following:
Tap Create a downloadable PDF and CSV or send as an email, then tap Continue.
Tap View in Activity to view this activity, then tap Done.
When the user signs out of Shared iPad, they are asked to authenticate again using their federated authentication password, then enter the temporary passcode.
