Apps, settings and features you can use from Control Centre

With Control Centre, you can quickly access these apps, features and settings on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Use Control Centre with a few taps

If you can't see these apps, features and settings in Control Centre, you might need to add a control and customise your Control Centre settings. After you’ve customised your settings, you should be able to access these with just a few taps.

Clock icon
Alarm: set an alarm to wake up or adjust your Sleep Focus settings.

Calculator icon
Calculator:Quickly calculate numbers, or rotate your device to use the scientific calculator for advanced functions.

QR code icon
Code Scanner: use the built-in camera on your device to scan a QR code to access websites quickly.

Dark Mode icon
Dark Mode: Use Dark Mode for a great viewing experience in low-light environments.

Crescent moon icon
Do Not Disturb: tap Focus, then tap Do Not Disturb to silence notifications for an hour or until the end of the day. Or turn it on just for an event or while you’re at a location, and it turns off automatically when the event ends or you leave that location.

Car icon
Driving:Turn on the Driving Focus to silence calls, messages and notifications.

Grey lock icon
Guided Access: Use Guided Access so you can limit your device to a single app and control which app features are available.


Keyboard Brightness: Swipe up or down to adjust the keyboard brightness on a Magic Keyboard.

Battery icon
Low Power Mode: Switch to Low Power Mode when your iPhone battery is low or when you don’t have access to electrical power.

Magnifying glass icon
Magnifier: Turn your iPhone into a magnifying glass so you can zoom in on objects near you.

Shazam icon
Music Recognition: Quickly find out what you're listening to with a single tap. Then see the results at the top of your screen.

Personal icon
Personal: turn on the Personal Focus and choose which apps and people you want to receive notifications from during your personal time.

Ping My Watch
Ping My Watch: play a sound on your Apple Watch to help you find it.

Portrait Orientation Lock icon
Portrait Orientation Lock: Stop your screen rotating when you move your device.


Quick Note: Jot down information over an app or screen on your device.

Bell icon
Silent Mode:* Quickly silence alerts and notifications that you receive on your device.

Bed icon
Sleep: turn on the Sleep Focus and choose which apps and people you want to receive notifications from while sleeping or winding down for bed.


Stage Manager: Organise apps and windows to make it quick and easy to switch between tasks on your iPad.

Stopwatch icon
Stopwatch: Measure the duration of an event and track lap times.

Text Size: Tap, then drag the slider up or down to make the text on your device larger or smaller.

Voice Memos icon
Voice Memos: Create a voice memo with your device's built-in microphone.


Work: turn on the Work Focus and choose which apps and people you want to receive notifications from during work.

*Calculator is only available on iPhone and iPod touch. The Driving Focus is only available on iPhone. Silent Mode is only available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad and iPod touch.

Accessibility Shortcuts: Quickly turn on accessibility features such as AssistiveTouch, Switch Control, VoiceOver and more.

Announce messages with Siri icon
Announce Notifications: when you're wearing your AirPods or compatible Beats headphones, Siri can announce your incoming messages.

Remote icon
Apple TV Remote: Control your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Brightness icon that looks like a sun
Brightness: Drag the brightness control up or down to adjust the brightness of your display.

Camera icon

Camera: Quickly take a picture or a selfie, or record video.

Torch icon
Torch: Turn the LED flash on your camera into a torch. Touch and hold the torch to adjust the brightness.

Ear icon
Hearing: Pair or unpair your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with your hearing devices. Then access your hearing devices quickly, or use Live Listen on your AirPods.

Home icon
Home: If you set up accessories in the Home app, you can control your favourite home devices and scenes.

Night Shift icon
Night Shift: In the Brightness control, turn on Night Shift to adjust the colours in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum at night.

Noise Control icon
Noise Control: Noise Control can detect external sounds, which your AirPods Pro or AirPods Pro Max will block to cancel the noise. Transparency mode lets outside noise in, so you can hear what's going on around you.

Compose icon for Notes
Notes: Quickly jot down an idea, create a checklist, sketch and more.

Screen Mirroring icon
Screen Mirroring: Stream music, photos and video wirelessly to Apple TV and other AirPlay-enabled devices.

Screen Recording icon
Screen Recording: Tap to record your screen, or touch and hold Screen Recording and tap Microphone Audio to use your device's microphone to capture sound as you record.

Sound Recognition icon
Sound Recognition: Your iPhone will listen for certain sounds and notify you when sounds are recognised. Examples include sirens, fire alarms, doorbells and more.

Spatial Audio icon
Spatial Audio: use Spatial Audio with AirPods Pro or AirPods Pro Max for a dynamic listening experience. Spatial Audio changes the sounds you're listening to so it seems to come from the direction of your device, even as your head or device moves.

Timer icon
Timer: Drag the slider up or down to set the duration, then tap Start.

True Tone icon
True Tone: Turn on True Tone to automatically adjust the colour and intensity of your display to match the light in your environment.

Volume icon
Volume: Drag the volume control up or down to adjust the volume for any audio playback.

Wallet icon
Wallet: Quickly access cards for Apple Pay or boarding passes, cinema tickets and more.

Sound Recognition shouldn't be relied upon in circumstances where you may be harmed or injured, in high-risk emergency situations, or for navigation.
