MacBook Air (15-inch, M4, 2025) Lid Angle Sensor
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
ESD-safe tweezers
Nylon probe (black stick)
Torque driver (blue, 0.65 kgf cm)
Torx Plus 1IP 44 mm half-moon bit
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Important
If you replace this part, it’s recommended to run Repair Assistant in order to finish the repair. Repair Assistant will be available on the device after you’ve completed all reassembly steps.
Note: This procedure may show images of different models, but the steps are the same. Ensure that you use the correct tools for the model you’re repairing.
Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
Lift the end of the lid angle sensor flex cable off the connector.
Use the blue torque driver and 1IP bit to remove the 1IP screw (923-12568) from the lid angle sensor.
Remove the lid angle sensor from the top case.
Reassembly
Align the clip and tab on the lid angle sensor flex cable with the screw hole and slot in the top case.
Hold the lid angle sensor in position (1). Use ESD-safe tweezers to position the 1IP (923-12568) screw into the lid angle sensor clip (2). Then use the blue torque driver and 1IP bit to reinstall the screw into the lid angle sensor.
Press the end of the lid angle sensor flex cable to the connector.
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
