If Apple Vision Pro isn’t responding to your input

Find out what to do if your Apple Vision Pro isn’t responding to your gestures as expected.

If your Apple Vision Pro isn’t responding consistently to your gestures, such as tapping and swiping, try these tips:

  1. Move to a brighter area or turn on more lights so Apple Vision Pro can see your hands clearly.

  2. Make sure your hands are visible to the cameras on the underside of Vision Pro. You can rest your arms comfortably on your lap or desk for most gestures.

  3. Keep your hands uncovered. Gloves, long sleeves or large jewellery that covers a significant part or all of your hands can affect how Apple Vision Pro tracks your gestures. If you’re experiencing any issues when using gestures, try removing these items.

  4. Don‘t cross your hands or cover up your gesturing hand with your other hand.

  5. Don’t make inadvertent gestures with the hand that you’re not using to interact with Apple Vision Pro.

  6. Make sure you’re looking at the item you want to select.

  7. Check the cover glass and outward-facing camera lenses to make sure they’re clean. If you can see any smudges, clean them with the polishing cloth that came with your Apple Vision Pro.

  8. Restart your Apple Vision Pro.

If Vision Pro still isn’t responding as expected to gestures, redo the hand setup process. You can do this in a few ways:

  • Say “Siri, enrol hands”.

  • Go to Settings > Eyes & Hands, then tap Redo Hand Setup.

  • Quadruple-press the top button, then follow the instructions. This will redo the hand setup and eye setup processes.
